Where have you gone, people who called this place a home.

My grandmother used to talk about her grandmother who would sit by the window near the fireplace and look expectantly for her children and grandchildren. That home is gone, but this image made me think of her words, "I've sat by that window many a time waiting..."

The original image, which I took, lacked something, so I have done a lot of lighting changes to, attempt at least, to emphasize the feelings I wanted to convey in this one.

This is really gorgeous.
Everything is so lush and green.
It looks as though the forest is swallowing the house.

Maybe it is swallowing it!

You're welcome. :aww:

I really like old buildings that are in some state of decay, especially ones that look tucked away in the woods somewhere. This picture represents to me all of that. I can't really critique it, I like the image as a whole.

Thanks much - glad you like it. I grew up in a rural area and get back there from time to time. There are so many places like this that beg to be recorded. Glad someone else enjoys them! =D
