Lanyon Quoit is a dolmen from prehistoric times. Likely it was a grave, but it's definite that it had some ritual significance to the people who built it.

Built by peoples long gone but hardly forgotten. We still marvel at these standing stones today.

It's significantly altered from its original form. It was knocked down by a storm and rebuilt by locals in the early 1800's. It's much shorter than its previous form and is one leg short.

i think i like it as it is after rebuilding more than i would in its original state. its got a jaunty feel to it, and it adds to its character. great photo btw :ahoy:
