I figure I've been inactive on here long enough that pretty much the only people who will be reading this post will be long time watchers or the occasional person who finds some piece of work here to comment on. (Note, if you've found something on here that you faved or commented on, my sincere thanks, and please check out the links at the bottom for more.)

It's literally been over a year since I last posted a journal. I've sporadically posted a few photos and rarely commented on other people's stuff who I watch. In fact, very rarely as I just purged nearly 4k of work waiting to be looked at. Even if I felt like I had the time, I wouldn't know where to start on that much work.

When I first started to do this post, I had some neg things I wanted to say about where DA is today. But who really wants to read that? The gist of things is although I have met some great people through DA, I don't have time to read and respond to so many comments, nevermind to look at all the work you guys are producing! I felt guilty for awhile, but finally decided, that's life.

I hope if you liked my work, you might continue to check it out on my website - Mark Tisdale Photography. I publish a blog there and you can do the usual RSS subscribe thing or submit a request to be added to a mailing list for when there are new posts. Heck, even my gallery there has an RSS feed.

I won't be bold and say I'll never be back, but I do have too many social/art dealios to keep up with and right now other things on my mind! What you may ask? Well, I quit the job that was paying all the bills a month ago. Yes, in this economy, I walked. Yes, I am quite insane. I'm currently waiting for my house to sell and plan to travel for awhile - we're talking a few months here, not years, but I'd love to make it longer term if I can. I'm living off my savings (hey, being single with a decent income didn't turn out too badly) and will still have to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Possibly back to school, possibly seeking work with a nonprofit. Who knows - I'm open to suggestions! LOL
